Un approccio narratologico al teatro: Ascanio Celestini tra memoria, immagini e parole
Abstract
Ascanio Celestini è una delle voci più note del teatro di narrazione in Italia. è un performer che ha elaborato e sviluppato un suo stile unico e individuale. In questo articolo è data una lettura psicologica della sua originale modalità artistica, tutta incentrata sull'oralità: dalla prima fase di raccolta del materiale (interviste e registrazioni di storie realmente vissute) alla costruzione dello spettacolo fino alla sua messa in scena. Il lavoro di Celestini, paragonato al costruttivismo sistemico di M. White, viene considerato come una forma di teatro sociale terapeutico e viene definito, più che teatro di narrazione, come un "approccio narratologico" al teatro.
Ascanio Celestini, one of the more familiar figures in Italian narrative theatre, is a performer who has created and developed his own unique, individual style. This article attempts a psychological reading of that original artistic method, entirely centred on orality; from the initial phase of collecting material (interviews and registrations of real life accounts) to the creation of the theatre piece itself and its eventual staging. Celestini's work, which can be compared to the systematic constructivism of M. White, has been considered as a form of therapeutic social theatre and defined less as a narrative theatre than as a "narratological approach" to theatre.
